Alaska Day 7

We spent our last day in Alaska at the Anchorage Zoo as it was highly recommended we go.  And we weren't disappointed.  It was great.

We then ended the trip with dinner at ORSO downtown.  If you go the seafood mac n cheese is a must do.  Enjoy the pics.

Alaska Day 6

We spent the day on Flat Top Mountain just outside downtown Anchorage.  It was rainy and cloudy but both made for awesome pictures.

Alaska Day 5

Today I crossed the finish line in Anchorage completing state/half marathon 48, putting me just two away from completion.  It was an awesome morning.

In addition to having my family join me at the start line I was also able to meet Governor William Walker, governor of Alaska.  That was a pretty cool experience.

The race started at 9:30 am and went through the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail from downtown Anchorage.  It was flat. It was cool.  It was a great course along the water.  I finished in 1:54:08.

Up next:  Michigan

Alaska Day 3

My sister Maria and I always talk about August 2013 and the whale watching tour we took that cemented Maine as the best trip I've taken in my 50 state challenge. It was that awesome.

However, today we embarked on yet another tour on the water that has now cemented Alaska as the best trip thus far.  It was a glacier cruise out on Blackstone Bay in Prince William Sound.

We saw a school of Orcas, harbor seals, snow capped mountains, and of course glaciers.  It was legit and one incredible tour.

Enjoy the photos.  More to come tomorrow after I pick up my race packet for Sunday.
