Montana race day

Unfortunately my phone died around mile 10 so I have limited photos of the race and post race.  But, this was a great course.  Nice and FLAT.  Perfect.  Nice job, Missoula.

A very nice bonus today was that the weather reports all said rain and thunderstorms this morning. It wasn't looking too good.  But rather than rain we had a little bit of overcast with temps in the mid 50s.  Solid.

In the end I finished in 1:51:31.

Up next:  Alaska

A very nice sunrise before start time.

Montana day 3

Today was the Expo followed by some breakfast at Hob Nob on Higgins.  At that point the clouds started to come in and rain soon followed.

Montana day 2

It was a day filled with mountains and lakes and then more mountains and lakes followed by even more mountains and lakes.  You'll see what I mean when you scroll through the pictures below.

It was difficult to know when to stop looking for the best picture because the entire day was filled with incredible scenes.  I started at 7 am driving from Missoula to Whitefish with a few stops along the way at Polson and Flathead Lake.  That was followed by lunch in Whitefish followed by a quick stop at Whitefish Lake.

At that point I started driving over to Glacier National Park to take the Going-to-the-Sun  Road.  It's a winding road (I'd recommend those afraid of heights to approach with caution) up the entire mountain with incredible views of lakes, mountains and mountain tops.

It was a lot of fun.  Enjoy the pics with more to come tomorrow.
